Veil Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required by law in your jurisdiction) to use Veil.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Do not share your login credentials.

3. What Veil Is

Veil is a private communication platform: direct messages, channels and communities, and personal profiles. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted between your devices; channels and communities are encrypted in transit and at rest.

You are responsible for the content you send, post or share, and for the people you choose to communicate with.

4. Encryption and Your Devices

Encryption keys for direct messages are generated on and stored by your own devices. Veil cannot read the contents of your end-to-end encrypted conversations and cannot recover them for you.

When you sign in on an additional device, your existing devices provision that device with your encrypted history. Losing access to all of your devices may mean permanently losing the ability to decrypt past direct messages.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
• Harass, threaten, abuse, or impersonate other people.
• Send spam, malware, or other harmful content.
• Share content that sexually exploits minors or promotes violence.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or interfere with Veil or its services.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Communities and Channels

Community owners and moderators set additional rules for their spaces. Veil may remove content or spaces that violate these Terms or applicable law.

7. Privacy

Your use of Veil is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The Veil name, logo, software, and other platform content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws and may not be copied or used without permission.

9. Account Suspension

Veil may suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms or engages in illegal, fraudulent, or harmful activity.

10. Disclaimer

Veil is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Veil shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Veil after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
